Grabbing some breakfast - a Japanese cinnamon roll! It was really different than the ones we have, but it was still tasty!
Met up with Mike and Sage (Miko, our "haha"'s son) to go for a little tour of the town! First stop: Osaka temple. It was mecha utskushi! (Very beautiful, I guess mecha is a little bit of regional dialect)
Next it was time for some lunch:
This place was awesome. We each just got a big plate of meat to Barbeque! Oishi! (Delicious!)
Our waitress!!
So,,,Sage is a Karate master. I'm not just saying that either, he's crazy fast and has won nationwide competitions. So of course we asked him to teach us some Kung Fu moves and we started practicing on each other.
Sage beating us up with his moves
Merry Christmas from Tokyo!
Both of us got pretty tired in the late afternoon, so we took a little break and met back up with our haha (mom).
We went to an SGI fireside-type thing (like a Bhuddist meeting - all in Japanese with no translation), and met Sage's cousin, who I'm pretty sure is in love with us.
Dinner time!! At the noodle shop where Sage works
We even have the T-shirts to match everyone in the shop!!
Osaka was fantastic. We had a fun time, made a lot of new friends, and definitely got thrown into Japanese culture. Our new friend Sage didn't speak a ton of English and we had a fun time learning to communicate with bits and pieces of Japanese, English, and google translate. Osaka is a really cool city, but it was time to hop on a night bus and head to...Hiroshima!
Wow that bowl of noodles looks HUGE!
